BOBBY DARIN

One of the most versatile singer/songwriter/instrumentalists to ever grace the stage, Bobby Darin packed quite a bit of accomplishment into his 37 years. Throw in acting/production credits and you begin to get a picture of the ambition that pushed him to work to the end, despite frail health.

Walden Robert Cassotto passed away on December 20, 1973.

Very nice. Darin was always lumped in with the lounge singer crowd by those people who didn't know his work well. He was so much more. He sang folk music and real jazz as well as rock. He was a true talent who left us too soon.

Not to mention his acting abilities.

Every genre that he explored was done properly. He was Jerry Lee Lewis. Frank Sinatra and much more. He made it all look easy.

Darin was easily one of the most underrated musicians/performers of his generation.

How many of his contemporaries were nominated for a best supporting actor Oscar?
